TAKE on art is pleased to be associated with the Art Scribes’ Award 2012.

Art Scribes’ Award, now in its second year is an initiative by Shrine Empire / New Delhi that seeks to open new avenues to writers, critics and curators working with contemporary art. The idea is to provide an opportunity to young art writers of Indian origin to present their work to be critically reviewed by a panel of acclaimed art critics, curators and artists.

One candidate will be selected on the basis of their writing by the esteemed jury to attend a month long International Residency program (January – February 2013) that will be held at the Red Gate Residency, Beijing. This will be accompanied by other benefits such as an announcement in TAKE on art, media partners of the award, the opportunity to publish the experience of the residency in the following issue and also a curatorial venture at Shrine Empire to wrap up the program.

The Art Scribes’ Award will cover the residency program and meet the airfare, besides a daily allowance during the residency.

TAKE on art is an art quarterly that follows a critical approach to the larger art discourse through curated issues with contributions by leading writers and critics across the globe.
